christmas!

Hey!

Figured it was about time to give a small sign that I'm still here. Came home friday for christmas vacation, to lots of snow and really cold weather! Last thursday, we had a big christmas dinner at school. In the middle of the dinner the 2nd year students gave out awards to students who had done different things the last year, and I got one for swimming in the ocean every sunday!

So far the week has been spent In Asker, Oslo, and inside today. It's freezing cold here today, so have just stayed inside, watched movies, and fixing a few christmas presents....

I'm back at Sund!

Finally back at school, feels so good!!!! Inderøy is beautiful during winter time, although it's incredibly cold here now, I think we are up to -20 today, but the sun is shining and my fingers are itching for the camera, but instead I am inside, trying to sort through all my pictures from India, over 1000 photos:-) By next week, I have to find 20 of them, that I want to show, today I have to show 5, and I have 6.

I have started getting christmas presents ready, being really early for once.....there is a first time for everything, but I think this years presents are getting really good, I'll post the results later. In the mean time, I'm going to figure out which pix to show.

India, part 2

We left Fort Kochin quite early in the morning on the 11th of November, and on our way back to Bangalore, we stopped at some of the most beautiful water falls I have ever seen! Here, we also saw a lot of monkeys, they are so cute, but really mean! They will steal anything they can get their hands on, and you must never try to feed them! We were supposed to cross the boarder by 9pm, but didn't make it in time, so we had to drive a different route, which made 12 hours into 25. On this trip, I had the worst headache I've had in a very long time, and I was really dizzy, so I drugged myself on Paracet, and tried to relax, but the roads were really bad, and everyone drives in different speed, so when the bus suddenly stopped, I rolled down from the seat and on to the floor, the whole thing left a rather big bruise on my behind. When we got back to Bangalore, I still didn't feel well, so I spent the day, sleeping, and I think I took at least 10 paracet that day, but I think the headache came from not drinking enough, so I will remember that next time.

Originally, we were supposed to go from Kerala to Bangalore, and to Hoskote the same day, where we were going to spend 2 days with a host family, but because we came back from Kerala one day later, we got 2 days free, and 1 night with our host family. Hoskote is a gathering of smaller villages, about 2 hours from Bangalore. These villages has been with the organization CSA(Center for Social Action, they were our hosts in Bangalore) for several years, and students from the photography class has been staying here for about 3 years. The teachers stayed in the main camp, while the students were spread out in 3 different villages, in groups of 2 and 3. I think staying with the host family is the most absurd thing I have done my entire life. You can say that we were put on exhibition for 24 hours. Being blond there, was like being a goddess, it's really weird. while the whole neighbour hood was in the door, watching, we were dressed in saries, they also did our hair, our nails, and decorated our hands with henna. Around 07.30pm, they started makinbg the bed for us in the living room, and we thought 'okey, they are going to bed now, I guess we'll play cards or talk or something else', but no. While, again, everyone in the village was watching in the door, and the rest of the family was watching tv( no matter how pore a family is, they have a tv), we were put to bed at 07.30pm. The rest of the family were up untill around 9.30pm, and we slept in the same room as 9 other people, and the cow!!! I think it must have been at least 30 degrees in the room, not to mention all the bugs. I didn't sleep much, but woke up around 11pm, feeling something crawling on my leg. I figured 'I must be dreaming, this can't be real, but I'll check anyway', and it was a bug the size of my thumb, crawlig on my knee. Being really scared of bugs, I actually managed not to scream, but I didn't close my eyes for the rest of the night. We left the camp around 3pm the day after, and on our way back to the main camp, we had to sit in the back of a truck, I don t think I have ever been this car sick in my entire life, and there was still 2 hour ride back to Bangalore.

The last week in Bangalore were spent with 4 students that were at Sund last year, as well as several volunteers from the CSA. They were so amazing, and it was so much fun getting to know them! I only wish that we had gotten to know them earlier in the trip, I an going to miss them so much!

A bit more general about India, the traffic is the most insane thing I have ever seen! It's a regular road, with room for 2 cars, and most of the time there are 6 cars driving beside each other. They all drive in different speed and direction! Janne, our teacher told us that 'the only time I worry about you, is when you're going to cross the roads, try not to!!' Everytime you are going to cross a road in India, just pray for your life and run! The taxies, also called 'rikshaws', are hysterical!!! It's like a 3 wheel motorized vehicale. Here, we also bargin with the drivers, and it's a lot of fun, because they get really angry, and drive liker maniacs!!!! It was kind of scary also though...We had a catering firm delivering food that wasn't as spicy, but still we felt the chili here. We were out twice at indian restaurants, and indian food is incredibly spicy!!!! In India, cows are sacred, so We haven't had beef in 3 weeks, but a lot of fish, chicken, and rice. I have never been so sick of rice before, that may be a good thing! I also have a bet going with a friend, we have bought a lot of green chili in India, and when we get back to Sund, we are going to see which one who can eat the most without drinking:-) As I said earlier, being blond in India, is a very interesting experience. Everyone looks at you, and I actually had 2 indian boys, wanting to touch my hair:-)

The flight back to Norway was one of the longest, most boring journeys of my life. I had been awake for over 24 hours when I landed in Oslo, and was caught in the security check 4 times. Still being on Indian time(4 and a half hours ahead), I was completely exhausted, and slept for like 14 hours. Today, I am still tired, so I haven't really done anything except relaxing and watching movies. Tomorrow night I am going back to Sund, can't wait to see the people from jazz, FK and football again!

All in all India is the most exiting, most amazing journey I have ever done, and I will never forget it! I am sure I could have stayed longer, to learn more about the culture down there, but in the same time, it's good to be back in winter. Although, I will definitly go back to India some day! I am also very impressed over our teachers, Janne and Merete, who actually kept up with us 24/7 for 3 weeks, they did an amazing job!

Going outside now, song of the day is actually my brother. He is, what we call 'russ' next year, and he has made the song for their bus, it's really good! TTYL:-)

India, part one

Hey everyone!

Came back yesterday from an amazing 3 week trip in India. I think this will be a very long update, so I will divide it into 2 parts:

We left Sund by bus on Sunday the 31st of November, and drove to Oslo. I think we arrived at the airport around 2am, and since we weren't going to check in before 5am, we spent like 3 hours playing cards:-)

After about 5 hours waiting in Heathrow, we arrived in Bangalore around 6am on tuesday, november 2nd, and got about 5 hours of sleep, before our teachers took us to a huge mall called 'forum'. In Bangalore, we stayed at 'Christ University', and the dress code there, at least for girls, is not to show shoulders or knees. This is a rule that counts for most parts of India, so the girls went a bit crazy in the shopping mall, but I have never seen this color full clothes ever, and they are so comfortable!

We stayed in Bangalore for 3 days before we moved on to Kerala, and 2 of the days in Bangalore, were spent photographing in the slum. This was such an amazing experience. I thought the teacher was exaggerating when she said that, to the children, we are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, but this was crazy! 'Anti anti, foto foto', they scream while they come running 10-15 at a time. They are so adorable and it's so hard not to take pictures of them! The slum was a really big reaslity check, at least for me. These people are so happy with what they have, no matter how pore they are, and I envy them the importance of family to them.

On November 5th we moved on to Kerala, by bus, of all! The indian perspective on time is a story of its own. For each hour they say something is going to take, you have to add at least 2, so 1 hour on the bus became 4 etc. We stayed 2 nights at them same place at the most, and I think we stayed at 5 hotels in 7 days. this was in some ways a lot of fun because we got to see so much more of the country, but on the other side I have never been more exhausted. Anyway, we moved from Bangalore to Kerala, and me and 3 other students spent the night in a really cool house boat. earlier in the day we had gone sailing with the same boat, and we also stopped on the way for shorter photography sessions. Here, I actually got to hold an eagle, it was so cool! The bad thing is, people had chopped off parts of its wings, so he couldn't fly. We moved on to Varkala, an amazing beach resort, where we spent 2 days just relaxing at the beach. At this point it was almost 40 degrees in the sun, and we spent the evenings walking up and down the road, trying to bargin with the sales people, it's not really that much we are talking about herte, the point is that they are constantly trying to get more than they should. After a while we learned to bargin quite well actually:-) The resort we stayed at also had a spa, and I had the most amazing full body massage of a very long time!

We moved from Varkala to Trivandrum, where we stayed in an AMAZING hotel called Keys. This is actually quite ironic, because you needed a key card to get anywhere, and when 3 people share a hotel room, with only one key card, this gets a bit difficult. After a few day, we started to leave the key in the reception. With us to Kerala, for the entire week, we had a professional photographer called Girish Kurup, a very nice guy, as well as an amazing photographer! I learned a lot from him over that week, we also went out around 05.30 in the morning to photograph, best time to take pictures is either early in the morning or in the evening. We moved from Trivandrum to Fort Kochin, on the way we visited a textile factory, which made the most amazing clothes out of plants, so every clothing item was good for your skin, sore muscles etc. In Fort Kochin we also went out in the morning to see the morning life:-)

This was about half of the trip, I will continue from here in part 2, which will also contain 'song of the day:-)

I'm off to India!!!!

Today, we're leaving!!!!! It's so weird how fast the weeks has been moving!!!! I remember it like it was yesterday that we were just talking about India, and now it's actually happening! We're leaving around 5pm, taking the bus to Oslo. Yes, you read right, the bus, I'm guessing it will be very interesting. Tomorrow morning, we are flying from Oslo to London, and then we have to wait at Heathrow airport for like, 5 hours. I am guessing Starbucks will be very well used, I think that's the only place I actually like coffee...

Anyway, Friday, we had a guest teacher named Kari-Anne Toth, and she gave us 2 options. Either we could do self portrets, or we could do a fashion shoot. With 18 girls in the class, no question, we did the fashion shoot! The students switched on being models, stylists and working behind the camera. It was so much fun!!!!! Got some really good shots too, I will put them on flickr, and on the blog when I have done some editing. Now I have to get some breakfast, ttyl!!!!

yoga and other things

hey!

I'm back at Sund now, and it feels really good being here again! In 5 days, on Sunday, we leave for India, so the whole week is being spent planning for the trip, that's why there are no new photos this week. I'm not sure how much blogging I will do for the next 3 weeks, we'll see, but I will update when I can.

We're leaving on Sunday afternoon, taking the bus from Sund to the airport in Oslo, which means 8 hours on a full bus, but the spirits are up, and I'm sure it will be an amazing trip! Anyway, we are spending the night at the airport in Oslo, and then flying to London early Monday morning. We have to wait in London for about 5 hours, before we fly to Bangalore around 2pm.

Back to the headline....Every morning this week, we have yoga, as a preparation for India, also to get into a zen mode, as my teacher would say...yesterday(tuesday) I was wearing my Odd Molly dress, along with a pair of wool panty hose. As we were getting into one of the positions, I heard a sound, and then I felt a slight breeze, and then the girl behind me whispered in my ear: 'you have a huge hull in your panty hose', and when I went to the bathroom to check, they had ripped all the way down, from the top of my ass....couldn't stop laughing....

Other stuff, well....I have a lot on my mind these days, not sure if I want to share it here, we'll see. ttyl

PS: song of the day, is the ultimate training song! I use it every time....

vacation!

Okay, I figured I should give a sign of being alive by now, sorry....

At the moment, I am back in Asker on vacation. I have been here for about a week now, arriving eeeeaaaaarly Saturday morning last week! About a month ago, a friend and I figured out we would take the night train from Trondheim to Oslo, this I am NEVER doing again!!!!!

I left Sund around 3.30pm Friday afternoon. A lot of people had left already, but there were some still left, who weren't leaving until Saturday morning or late Friday night When the taxi pulled out , the students who hadn't left yet, stood by the road, waving, and as we drove by, they did 'the wave'! This almost made me cry, because a lot of these people I won't see until after christmas, as a lot of them leaves for class trips this weekend, and won't be back until mid december or after christmas. Anyway, I arrived in Trondheim around 5.30pm, but since my train to Oslo wasn't leaving until 11pm, I had a couple of very fun hours, playing tourist in Trondheim. Never having been there before, I just walked around, taking pictures, before I met my friend Ingelin for dinner at Peppes.

As I wrote eralier, we left Trondheim at 11pm, and after a 8 hour train ride, with a total of 2 hours sleep, you can pretty much say that I was a wreck, but after some breakfast and a very hot, long shower, I was good for a few hours....During this week, I've been doing a photography job for the local theatre group, spending 4 days watching them rehearse for a production they are putting on tomorrow. This job started early August really, when a very close friend of mine called. She's an acter, and I've been working with her on and off for a couple of years. She told me that she was directing a play that would premiere in the middle of October, and she asked me if I wanted to document the process and the premiere. I documented for about 4 days in August, and I came back for the vacation week to do the rest. I really love doing it, I have had so much fun, and I've met some really amazing people! I am so happy I got the chance to do it, and I also met a very special someone during this job....

During the rest of my vacation, it has been a lot of family visits, as well as a trip to Sandefjord, and spending time with a special someone. It has been a very nice weekend, but I don't know why I call it a vacation, because having moved out, I have experienced that coming home means that I have to plan visits to EVERY family member....it's fun though.

One of the things I have discovered this week, is that during the last couple of months, I have become a real camera nazi. The camera has been with me almost every day, almost everywhere, and I suspect that it will be even worse when I return from 3 weeks in India. India, yes....in 9 days we're leaving! It's so weird, the last couple of months has gone by so fast!!!!!I don't think it has hit me yet, most likely it will when we land in Bangalore....Packing is another thing. Several things are coming with me when I go back to school now, but there is so much to keep track on!!! We'll see how it goes. Now, I'm headed to Oslo to get battery and memory card for my camera...ttyl. I am also posting some fall picture this time...

colors!

As I said on Monday, the assignment for this week, was labeled 'colors'. I loved it! It was so much fun, just walking while photographing, and I got some really cool photos doing this assignment! The photos I'm posting here, are the ones I turned in today.

Today, is also a very heavy day for me. It's the birthday of a person that is very special to me, and I miss him like you wouldn't believe. I have gone around all day, feeling sad, but it wasn't until my teacher asked me what was wrong, that I started crying. But it was good to get it out, I think I needed it. I've cried a bit on and off for about an hour, and now I'm going out to get some fresh air, cya.

11.10.10

Hey guys!

Last week before the vacation! It feels really weird going back to Asker on Friday night....The weeks here are moving SO fast, and I have a feeling that a whole week at home, will feel really long! Even if, it will be nice to spend a few days at home, and on Sunday I get to see a very special friend! Can't wait, it's been 2 months since last time!

Today, we were given the last assignment before we leave for India! It's 3 weeks left until we go, can't wait! We have through this week, then we go home for vacation, and then we have a week, planning for India. We are going by bus, to Gardemoen, then spending the night there, before the plain leaves at 07.30am Monday morning. I'm back on the 21st of November, and I suspect it will be 3 weeks with almost no blogging, we'll see. Anyway, the assignment for the week is 'colors'! It's the perfect time of the year, thinking of all nature changing, and I REFUSE to stay inside because of rain! The first thing I did when we were given the assignment, was checking the weather, and it looks okay. Not perfect, but okay. I will post pictures on Thursday, when I have turned them in.

The pool was opened last week, and so far I've trained 4 times already! Can't say how good it feels being in the water again! I feel like I've really used the muscles for the first time in a looooong while! Every Monday, we have something called 'min time'. During the year, all of the students are going to talk for like 20min about something he/she is interested in. Today, it was my turn. Took a while to figure out, but I chose to talk about Peter Gabriel, my favorite musician over many years! I swear, I have never been this nervous before, I was standing in front of the rest of the school, and I thought I was going to throw up! I went allright though, it usually does, so I don't know why I get so scared every time....

I'm going to go look through some photos I took today, cya!

Best weekend ever!

Hey!

Took me thursday night and a small break down, to get back on track. After showing my pictures, which I thought was really bad, on Thursday, I went to the gym, training out all my anger and frustration, and then I went to get some paper and colors, and I just drew. It was nice actually.
Friday, we worked on a project, I will reveal the theme of the project and the result next week I think, or when we're done with it, pictures are coming!

Saturday, we had something called a boy/girl-party. It's a tradition here, the boys and the girls each get a paper sheet, it either says 'day' or 'night', and the girls plan a program for the boys, and vise versa. This year, the girls were responsible for the evening, and the boys were responsible for the day. Of course, the plans are top secret, we didn't get to know anything! Saturday morning, visitors came to our rooms, bringing fruit and chocolate. We were told to be ready at 09.30am, in the gym, and 2 of the guys taught us yoga! When we got back to the dining room, the tables were set, with candles and everything! The boys were our waiters, and we could just ask them anything! Afterwards, we were divided into 3 groups, my group first got to make a catapult and try to shoot a football as close to the school as possible. Then we were shown to the photography classroom, and we were shown baby pictures of all the boys, and we had to guess which was which. We also got to dress up the boys, do their hair, make-up etc and take pictures! After Lunch, we had spa by the pool, all the girls got massages from the boys. they had also made a movie for us, which we got to see in the auditorium. 5 of the from the jazz class had also made a boy band, and they held a live concert, playing 90s hits like backstreet boys, A1 etc....all in all the day was AWESOME!!!!!

The girls planned an evening with the theme '1950s italian mafia'. The boys were told to wear black suits, and all the girls wore dark dresses. We placed all the students in different familys, with 1 family in each table, served a 3 course italian dinner and had competitions to announce the mafia boss. We ended the night with a son that we had written for the boys, along with dancing, and several games of pool, poker etc...

Of course, today, everyone is extremely tired, so it has been a very slow day. I had to be in the kitchen at 09.30 this morning, and I almost fell a sleep over my breakfast. Didn't really do much, except for putting on laundry....It hasn't been so bad working in the kitchen this week, really, it's just that we miss out on so much while doing it, and we always have to be on time.
Tomorrow we start working on photoshop, can't wait! Going off to bed now, ttyl!

meet a local - part 2

I'm done with the assignment 'meet a local'. I can honestly say, I have never been more dissapointed in myself. Right now, I think it would have been better, not to turn in anything. Everyone else was positive, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't really help, when I think that the photos are really bad....I didn't have one picture today, that I was happy with, that I wanted to turn in....I know that what I want to do, is photography, and it really sucks when I can't have ONE satisfying result....

Not in the mood to post any pictures or videos today, I'll talk to you guys later

A sign

Hey:-)

Figured, I should probably give a small sign of life now. I have had a rather hectic, but yet quiet week.

Last Monday, we were given 2 assignments, one about a photographer, working within documentation or journalism. We had to deliver 3 pages about the selected photographer, and have a 10 minute presentation. No big deal really, the only problem I had, was finding the discipline to actually do the work. But it turned out quite nice actually. The second assignment is to be delivered on Thursday this week, and it's called 'meet a local'. We have to get in touch with one of the locals, and make a slide show. I will tell you on Thursday, how it turned out.

In other news, I've started training. Twice a week, I train with the volleyball team for the girls at my school, and 3 times a week, I spend about 45 minutes cycling, as well as doing push-ups and sit-ups. It has taken me 5 weeks to get myself started, and I WILL keep going! After the vacation in October, the pool opens, and I will be able to use that as well....This is not only because I want to lose a couple of kilos, but also because I need to be comfortable with myself, and at this point, I'm not.

Anyway, the sun is shining outside, and I am going to get some work done. I am working in the kitchen this week, so I don't know how much photographing I will be doing this week. On Saturday, we have something called a boy/girl party. The girls throw a party for the boys, and vice versa. The boys are responsible for the day, and the girls for the evening. It will be a lot of fun I think, pictures will come! TTYL:-)

PS: Pictures today, were taken last Friday, we had the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen!

Meet a local

hey!

First thing this time: the assignments. We got 2 of them, one that must be delivered on thursday, and one to be delivered next thursday. The one we've got this week, is the only writing assignment that we will have the entire year. We have to find a photographer, working within journalism or documentaries. On Thursday, we have to have a presentation on that photographer. I'm not really worrying about this one.

The one we have for next week, is roughly translated called 'meet a local'. We have to contact one of the people living here, spend at least 5 hours with them, and make, sort of a slide show. It's going to be a documentarien or a journalistic series. This one, I'm worrying a bit about. Kind of not very comfortable about contacting strangers, asking to take pictures of them...Guess I just have to throw myself into it, right?

This weekend, has been quiet, kind of relaxing really. On Saturday, we had a seminar. It lasted from about 10am to 2pm. A man who represented the Red Cross, came to speak to us about the work that the organization does. On Saturday night, we watched 'the lion king'. The word 'movie', is to me an excuse to eat a lot of candy....LOL. Sunday, we didn't really do anything, just sat around, playing cards all day! And of course, we took the weekly swim. The water was really nice yesterday!

In other news, I cut a fringe today:-) Or, I got a girl in my class to do it:-) Picture is coming underneath. Every time I am going to get my hair cut, I really want to do this, but I never actually do it, so this time I figured: Just jump into it. Going to get some work done now, ttyl!

composition

hey!

As I said earlier this week, the project for the week was on the subject 'composition'. We had to deliver 4 photos, each showing different kind of composition, and one of the photos had to come from one of our own ideas. The assignment in itself was a lot of fun working on, and I loved that we got to show our creativity.

As I am sure I have said before, I have a rather serious shoe addiction, and if I haven't said it, well, then you know it now. Anyway, I chose to use my shoes as inspiration for this assignment, which actually turned out really well! I For the picture, where I was going to show creativity, I really wanted to use the pool, since it's empty, up until the middle of October. I wanted to turn it into a shoe store, or something like it, with a lot of colors. But I forgot ONE very important fact, to look at the weather forecast! I had an hour with Janne, my photography teacher, and she pointed out this fact, so when we checked the forecast, it of course said rain, and lots of it! I figured the light wouldn't be any good, so I sat down with a drawing book and a pen, trying to come up with a different idea, still involving the shoes. I actually came up with something, that the weather also ruined, when I tried doing it. It figures, that last night, I was kind of fed up with everything, but looking outside the window, and with help from a very good friend of mine, I got the idea to place a show on a rock by the water, showing the colors, trying to create a bit of a scary setting. Got some really cool stuff, and today, my teacher gave me credit for not giving up, which lifted my spirits several levels!

Of course, we had to swim as well, so I stood in the water, in my bathing soot, with the rain poring down my face, trying to take the picture, before I threw myself into the water, it actually wasn't so cold this time.....although, it could be because of the fact that I was already very cold....

Anyway, the pictures are coming under here, the picture on top of this blogpost, isn't one that I've taken, but a friend of mine, I just really liked it. Song of the day fits really good into the weather we've had the last couple of days, and I have a thing for Joni Mitchell. Going to dinner now, ttyl

14.09.10

This has turned into one of those kind of days, where I just want to give up. At least for the moment. The theme for this weeks photography project is composition. On thursday, we have to deliver 4 photos with different kind of composition, one of the photos has to be showing creativity/fantasy. I had a really good idea up until today. The weather forcast ruined it for me...

Right now, I'm just sitting here, trying to come up with ideas. I think I have one, but I have to find someone to pose for me, so we'll see. results will be posted on Thursday, after I have shown them to the rest of my class....

In other, a bit more happier news, I have joined the girls volleyball team at my school! Never thought I would do it, but it's a lot different when You don't get graded on how well you do things. Just playing for fun is actually working, I'm really enjoying it!

Now I am going to go drown my worries in chocolat, TTYL

Friday!

It's Friday, and I think, that for the first time in 3 weeks, I'm looking forward to a weekend, doing absolutely nothing! I am a bit homesick today, since we don't have school on Saturday, a lot of the students are going home for the weekend. Since I have like 8 hours by train to Oslo, there is no point in going home before the vacation in October.

Anyway, yesterday, I actually managed to fall out of the bed at 03:00 in the morning, and I woke up on the floor! Don't really know how that's possible, since I have a desk next to the head of the bed, think I must have curled up against the middle or something. Music-wise, I am kind of into jazz these days. I am completely addicted to Melody Gardot, the favorite these days is "if the stars were mine". Yesterday(Thursday) I went to a jazz concert in Straumen, at Rødbrygga, the lokale pub. There is a concert there almost every Thursday, think I will try to get there more often.

Have to get going now, posting a few pictures that I took this week, I used them in my weekly assignment about light, TTYL!

bit of a long day

Everyone has those days, where you just want to give up. That feeling came today. We started working with light today, and Thursday, we're supposed to hand in 3 photos, 2 with different kinds of light, and one where we just get to be creative. All in all today, I've taken around 140 photos, and then I looked at them, and the first impression was a bit difficult really. Couldn't, by the eye sight, see one picture where I thought "Oh, THIS I want to use".....so the night is being spent going through photos, but I think I'm going to go outside and enjoy the evening sun soon....

The next small step backwards came when I had moved all the photos over to the computer. We were told to get a RAW converter, to be able to do more work on our pictures, and I installed one last night. When I was going to use it with photoshop today, it didn't work. Spent 2 hours trying to fix it...

Going to call it a very early night tonight, ttyl:-)

week 36 = week 3

hey!

Seems like the weekend has gone by really fast this time, we had so much fun! Every Friday, we have something called 'heimekveld', where each corridor comes up with entertainment. Last Friday, the theme was 'a childs birthday party', and everyone went ALL out! We had games, childrens disco, cake etc....this week, my corridor is responsible for the entertainment, pictures will come, it will be fun, I think!

Saturday, we had school, and all the students were taken around on 'Inderøy' for a bit of sightseeing. In the evening, a lot of us went to the local pub called 'Rødbrygga', a very nice, quite small place:-) Yesterday, I figured that I would sleep in, so I got up around 11:30am, did some laundry, and worked a bit with my camera. had a very nice, kind of slow Sunday:-)

Today, Monday, we started working on photoshop, and tomorrow, we will spend the day working outside, with light. I'm kind of afraid to check the weather updates, don't really want to know until tomorrow! Sure it will be fine though...now, I'm off to bed, good night!

PS: I would love comments o how to improve my blog:-)

fredag 3. september 2010

Today, I've walked around like a zombie all day long. it's very tempting to take a power nap, but I know too well that I won't sleep tonight, if I do.

From Monday and on, we start following the regular schedual, and in less than 2 months we leavi for India, for 3 weeks! Can hardly wait:-) We have a different teacher on Friday, and today we were given a project that we will be working on for a few weeks. the process is being documented, but I will not post any pictures here until it's finished, but I can say that it will be a lot of fun working on it!

Weekends here are very different. We have school almost every Saturday, on each of those saturdays, there's a seminar on a different topic. Tomorrow, I think we're taking a bus tour around the area. We have every Sunday off school, and last week I made a deal with a friend, that EVERY Sunday we are going to swim outside. stay tuned, is all I can say!

This last couple of days, I've really missed knitting, so tomorrow afternoon, I think I will go into town to buy some thread...TTYL

01.09.10

Hey!!

Got back from a 2 day-hike in the mountain today:-) The whole school left yesterday morning, around 09:30am, and drove in busses for about an hour, before we walked to a cabin, I think the walk was about 9 kilometers long or so...Yesterday everning was spent talking, playing cards etc, and last night, aroung 20 of us decided to sleep outside. It is amazing what the air does to you! Went to bed right befor 12pm, and woke up at 06:30am, and I have never been more awake! Feels great:-) Although, the short night caught up with me once we left the cabin this afternoon, and I was fast asleep on the bus within 5 minutes, and I didn't wake up until we had stopped on the parking lot.

Right now, I'm sitting in the living room, looking through some photos I've taken the last couple of days. Tomorrow, I have to deliver 4 pictures....Kind of scary, but will be fine, I guess. Every day, we also play one song from a students spotify or Itunes library. Tomorrow, it's my turn. I'm actually really looking forward to it:-)

I have to get some work done now, TTYL!

a small introduction to photography:-)

yesterday, we had our first class in photography. We are 17 students in this class, 15 girls and 2 boys, or more like it, it's 1 boy and a man, he's 45 years old.... The teacher is a very nice woman named Janne, she is very energetic, and she's always smiling. She sometimes talks very fast, and since it's in a different dialect than me, it can be a bit difficult to understand, but I'm sure that by the end of next week, I won't notice it anymore:-) Got our first assignment yesterday(thursday), and I had a little lack of inspiration, but I'm sure it will be fine.

In a total, we are 93 students at this school, and we all stay in a dorm. it's quite big actually, with 5 floors + a basement. We start at 8am every day, when all the students has to meet in the auditorium. After that, we have classes from 9am to 3.30pm, then there are several activities in the evening. we also have school on Saturdays, that's why we finish the year in May, instead of June. Almost every Saturday, we have a seminar on different subjects, it usually lasts from 10am to 2pm.

We eat ALL the time, it's a bit weird really. We have 4 meals during the day, breakfast at 8.30am, lunch at 11.30am, dinner at 3.30pm, and then one more meal at 7.30pm. My system hasn't quite gotten used to it yet...and I have a baaaaad feeling that it will be a bit difficult reaching my goal this year, but I will try!

Got to go now, the sun is finally out after 4 days of rain, and I want to get some photos!

hey!

It's been a bit easier the last couple of days, I guess I just had to get through the first day. Tomorrow we have the first day with photo, really looking forward to it, I haven't picked up my camera in a while, haven't really had the time, but I think the classes here will be a lot of fun!

I don't have a whole lot of new pictures these days, not since, but I will try to post at least one photo every time I blog, of anything really, love feedback by the way!

and so it begins

Left Asker yesterday, after spending Friday packing down parts of my bedroom...felt really weird by the way. we drove for about 8 hours, before we stopped in Trondheim, and stayed there until today(Sunday). Took about 90 minutes to get to the school from Trondheim.

So, my reality for a year ahead....I'm staying in a 6 square meter room, with one room mate. She seems nice, although I haven't gotten to know her quite yet....Today has been a bit difficult, separating from my dad. he was in a great hurry, since he was going fishing, felt a bit cold to me, but...

Sitting in the living room now, feeling a bit home sick today, but hopefully it will pass....going to bed now, I have to get up early tomorrow, we are sharing the bathroom with 12 other people...TTYL

2 days...

It's 2 days left! Or one and a half, I guess...went to the doctor today, and got myself vaksinated for a trip to India, or at least I'm almost done, I have to go back in a month to get one more shot....Can't say I'm a big fan of needles, but it usually helps not looking. I also managed to fix my highlights today, so I feel a bit more attractive today:-)

16.08 - 5 days left

5 days left....

Went to Oslo last Thursday, to get the rest of the photo equipment, the rest of the week, will be spent on dentist, doctors visit, haircut, packing, and a much needed shopping trip(not really looking forward to it), and then I'm leaving on Saturday...Had my last day at work on Saturday, it's a bit weird that I won't be back to work until December, and then only for a few days.

Looks like this is becoming a very short update, but there's a little lack of inspiration these days, I don't have much to write about these days...

I'm back!

I'm back from a FANTASTIC weekend on Beitostølen:-) Traveled up on Thursday, with a bunch of teenagers, and 2 of the teachers of a drama club I was part of for a few years....Over the weekend, we have worked on the script to a show the group is putting on in October. Since I'm leaving in 2 weeks, I am not acting this year but I got to hep writing the script over the weekend. I have also taken a lot of pictures, they will be used in a 'scrapbook', and will be sent around to everyone who has been part of the production...I have had a lot of fun, and I met some really amazing people! The show will be on the 24th of October in Asker Kulturhus, and I reconmend to EVERYONE to go and see it:-)

My inspiration also came back, and I got some AMAZING photos this weekend! I will post some of them here, but out of respect for everyone on the trip, I will not post any photos of the other people...

There is now 13 days left until I move up north, and I am starting to really look forward to it. the panick feeling has vanished after the weekend, I got to get a lot of my fears out of my system, and being able to take so much pictures now has given me a small feeling of what next year will be like....

Last: I will also reconmend a new blog. this is written by an AMAZING young singer/dancer called Herbie. I met him over the weekend. his blog is brand new, you can find it here.

Hey guys!

This week has been raining away....but started working again last Wednesday, so the weather doesn't really matter, since I'm able to keep myself busy...today, I went to the pool for some training at 10am, took my bike to do some food shopping, and then walked 1 1/5 km to the bus stop to go see 'inception'. the movie was okey, but actually a bit exhausting for a Friday night, too much action for me really...

Tomorrow, we're having guests, and I'm brainstorming for dessert ideas, picture will arrive on Sunday or Monday:-)

positive

Okey,

I'm a bit more positive these days, 1 reason:

1. I've lost almost 7 kilos in 7 weeks!

Back in January, in my last blog 'I choose my choice', I wrote down, that one of my new years resolutions was to loose at least 10 kilos, I am on my way to happiness! My price to myself for reaching my goal weight, is a small star tattoo between my shoulders. I feel that, for me to be inspired to reach my goal, I need a price that inspires me to reach it. the results are quite inspiring as well, and when I reach my goal, I will write here, what I did to accomplish it...I suppose it will be in a couple of months, hopefully....

Anyway, I'm back after a slight melt down, tomorrow I start working again, I think the distraction will be good for me, I need to think about something else...Going to call it an early night tonight, ttyl!

panic

Last night, I panicked, or at least that's what I think it was...

It was like I couldn't get enough oxygen, and I couldn't stop crying. a lot of things has been building up inside of me the last couple of days, and I haven't been able to explain it to people. this has nothing to do with not trusting my friends. it's a bit hard to explain, but mainly I don't feel that I can be myself around people my own age, and the people I feel like I can do that with, I often get really attached to(this is why I have been a basket case ever since I left Crete).

People keep telling me that next year is going to be "my year", that it's going to be so great etc...but I am terrified that I am not ready for it, that I can't make myself let go, and be the person that I need to be, why is this so hard???? In one way, I know that I need to do this, in order to grow up, and that I'll regret it for the rest of my life if I don't, but on the other side, I have a growing feeling that I can't do it, and that I never should have said yes to te spot...

I'm back:-)

I'm Back, from 2 AMAZING weeks in Paleochora, Crete!

Had the best time, met the most wonderful people, and frankly, I didn't want to go back. We had 35 degrees for 2 weeks straight, a little bit windy but not too bad...

Now the fear is approaching again. In about a month, I will start a one year course at Sund folkehøgskole in Trøndelag, and I am quite afraid that I am not ready to be so far away on my own. I am going up there, without knowing anyone else, and I have never been the most outgoing person. It's kind of hard for me, meeting people, I don't always feel like I can be myself with everyone else, and I am afraid that I am not independent enough to live alone...

But, back to Crete. I met the most amazing woman, called Sarah. She's from Germany, and she has lived in Greece for 5 years. I feel like I can talk to her, just being myself, no pretending, and she doesn't judge me. Out of respect for her privacy, I won't post any picture of her in here....

Today, I'm going to go see my grandmother, and I need to do a bit of unpacking, so I will update later, ttyl!!!!!

05.07.10

Hey!

I am now 2 and a half weeks into my summer vacation. I spent 3 days in Sandefjord last week, went to the premiere of Twilight Eclipse with a few friends of mine, but after an entire night of watching all 3 of the twilight movies, I think it'll be a while before I read the books or see the movies again:-) It was really fun though, I think the third movie is the best one!!!
We didn't do much on Wednesday, the movie ended at 02,08 am, so we didn't go to bed untill 3am. I spent Thursday seeing a lot of my moms side of the family, it was really nice, haven't seen them in over a year! Friday was spent at the beach, and I am slowly building up a nice tan:-)

This weekend I haven't really got much done, I went to the mall on saturday. I was only supposed to buy a new bikini, but came home with a pair of shoes as well...typical me, I have absolutely no will power. Today(Monday), I am off to Crete for 2 weeks, so there won't be much blogging, I am not sure if I have internet access...we'll see, but a longer update will arrive when I get back!

ttyl:-)
